How to Find Quality Curtains and Drapes Online

If you are fed up with hideous looking curtains and drapes online this article is for you. Here I am giving away  some of the secret designers' resources for curtains and drapes I use all the time.  Some of them are available to you online, others you can buy from Wayfair.

Here they are:

1. Regal Drapes  An online store for custom draperies of any size. The company promises a very quick turn-around time (3-7 business days or less). You choose from 12 header styles and over 1000 designer fabrics, such as Robert Allen and Kravet. All the curtains are made locally. All of their drapes are hung and tested prior to shipment. They have a satisfaction guarantee policy.

2. Eastern Accents - A go-to source for designers. They have many options of coordinating bedding, pillows, as well as curtains and drapes. NICHE collection has a lower price point. The workmanship is very good as well as customer service. I worked with them a lot and I was never disappointed. You can buy them from Wayfair.

3. Emdee International - NEED A DESIGNER TO ORDER.  They have several lifestyle options. My favorite is washable Belgian Linen drapes. I also like their sheers and embroidery fabric. Custom and semi-custom draperies are available as well as any header options, pinch pleat, inverted pleat, box pleat etc. If you don't know what I'm talking about in terms of pleats header options, have a look here.

4. Curtainworks - an online store for regular length as well as extra long curtains. They have really good reviews and customer service. The maximum length is 144 inches. Curtains come is several pleat styles. Very reasonable prices.

Here are some questions you should ask before you buy curtains and drapes:

1. Are they wide enough to open and close?
2. Are they easy to operate?
3. How do they look from the outside?
4. How do they look from the outside?
5. Are you using the lining. (I do recommend this as much as possible. )

Here are some tips when you order:

·         Make sure that you don't get curtains and drapes that are too skimpy. You want to maintain some folds when you open them. If your drapes look flat when opened it's not the look you want. If a "flat" look is what you desire, shades or blinds are better options.

·         Be careful when selecting a pattern. This doesn't mean that you have to be scared to use pattern or a strong color. If this is what you are after, go for it. I usually create digital design boards using Olio Boards  where I place images of everything in the room. Then I look at it for a couple of days.

Okay, we just scratched the surface of many options for extra long curtains and drapes. Because I am working with clients every day and have tons of knowledge about any kind of design dilemma, I can certainly help you. Just post your questions here and attach a picture.
